Default Download EoTN

I'm looking to purchase EoTN via a download (my local store is out). It sickens me to see people still charging an outrageous amount for a download vs. the actual manufactured cd/boxes.

I found a very reasonable price at an online store (not sure if I can give them name, OG will have to do). If those letters make sense to you, then you have bought stuff there. Has anyone used this method? How does it work? I sent them an email with some questions.... only to get a reply in broken english and they couldn't assist me without an order number.

It's my understanding I can purchase a key from another store and receive the download from NCsoft. Is this correct?

I just recently purchased the trilogy using the download option.
Basically you buy the rights to the key for the game.
If you already have EoTN loaded on your computer then all you do is add the key to your account. If not first you will download EoTN via them when you open your download. Then open email account to find key access code and add it to your account.

It was very easy and very fast for me... and now I dont have to physically store anything..... however, i did print my code and file it for my own safe keeping cause that way nobody else will ever get my access key....

If you already have Guild Wars installed, you also have EotN installed. Guild wars is one big game, but the keys added to your account decide wether or not you can acces some of those files. So yeah, you can buy a key, add it to your account and play EotN. However, you never know if the store can be trusted, especially if they have bad costumer support in broken English.

OK. So this sounds like it's a legit way of doing this. So, I am comfortable with that now. Now, I don't want to put the name of the place in this thread. If someone could pm me with some legit companies doing this, I can see if the one I found is in that list.

I'm only skeptical due to the price. I mean, some places are still selling it for 20-30 bucks...just for the expansion.

Buying it from a company that responds in broken English and which tells you that you need an order number first is an extremely bad idea. You are not only risking being given a used (and thus useless) key, you are also giving your credit card information to someone who likely cannot be trusted with it.

If you want the game cheap, order it from Newegg. It's $5.99 with free shipping, or you can pay a couple bucks extra and get it overnight.

If you want immediate safe access, either buy it from NCSoft directly, or from Steam.

If you want to risk having your credit card info compromised... go with the site you originally mentioned. Personally, I find no item worth that kind of risk.

When you purchase EotN you are merely purchasing an access key. There is no need to download anything as most of the content is already in your gw.dat file.
When you get the actual manufactured CD/box, the only important part is, again, the access key, and the proper way to "install" EotN is simply to add the access key to your current account.

In some cases, depending upon what campaigns you have and where you've been (or not), there may be some content to download, but this is done either by downloading as you go or using the -image command. The CD/DVD you'd get with a "boxed" version (if there even is a CD/DVD) would, because of the dynamic nature of the GW content, be out of date anyway, and new content would need to be downloaded anyway.

I recommend buying it right from the ingame store. You know your credit card info is safe with them and you won't have to wait to get anything in the mail.

No one is telling you that. In fact, people are saying the exact opposite of that. You are just hearing what you want to hear.
